Bayo Foundation's Partnership with Race to Zero in the Philippines

Bayo Foundation has officially aligned as an Adopted Program partner of Race to Zero in the Philippines, an initiative led by the ECCP. This serves as the country’s accelerator for the global Race to Zero campaign, driven by the UN Climate Change High-Level Champions for COP28 and COP29. The campaign rallies non-state actors including companies, cities, regions, and institutions in different sectors to take immediate action to halve global emissions by 2030, ultimately creating a healthier, fairer, and zero-carbon world.

As an Adopted Program partner, Bayo Foundation advances sustainability with its #JourneytoZero initiative, targeting zero waste, zero carbon emissions, and zero as symbolic to the circular economy model. A priority is given to using regenerative or natural materials as a primary practice before the last option of recycling is done. Bayo’s initiatives encourage communities to reuse, reimagine, and refashion materials, reducing waste and maximizing the potential of existing resources. These efforts include innovative ways of upcycling textile and plastic waste into new products, reducing landfill waste.

Bayo Foundation will continue to support community-driven recycling initiatives and foster creative reuse solutions to reduce plastic waste, empowering local communities and promoting a circular economy for long-term environmental sustainability. In partnership with Race to Zero Philippines, Bayo Foundation aims to play a key role in accelerating efforts toward a zero-carbon future in the country.
